In May of this year three new members were elected to the Forney City Council. Those members included Amanda Lewis, Sarah Salgado, and Jason Roberson. During their campaign and their short tenure on City Council they have promised transparency to the citizens of Forney. However, three months in Amanda Lewis and Sarah Salgado have already called that into question by altering the Tournament Fee Schedule for their friend and political ally Sandra Taylor who is the owner of a for-profit soccer tournament organization (See that video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VfnLwlLGpo&t=10s). After reviewing public records received from the City of Forney it appears appointed City Council member James Traylor has made sure his friend and business partner also gets a piece of the taxpayer pie.

On June 25th of this year a video was posted on the City of Forney Facebook page that included interviews of the five finalists the sitting City Council members picked to fill the open place 2 spot. The video was produced by Fox Bit Creative LLC which is owned and operated by Samuel Haun, a friend and business partner of City Council member James Traylor. As you can see in the attached document James Traylor and Samuel Haun co-own 7CF Media LLC and co-created Spotlight Forney which has recently been renamed Spotlight Texas. You will also find in the document attached an invoice in the amount of $1,200 from Fox Bit Creative LLC provided to the City of Forney for the production of the video. Also, below is a link to the video posted by the City of Forney. Immediately upon hitting play you will see the Spotlight Texas logo advertising James Traylor and Samuel Haun’s business venture.

What’s also curious about the decision to hire a third party friend and business partner of a City Councilman is that the City of Forney hired a Social Media specialist in March of 2020 who is tasked with highlighting the city by creating informative videos, graphics, and social media articles for the city. That position is already funded by the taxpayers of Forney but the City Council decided anyway to spend an additional $1,200 for the third party production of the video highlighting candidates that the City Council members voted on, not the citizens of Forney. It should also be noted that the incoming City Council members were told that James Traylor was friends and business partners with Samuel Haun, owner and operator of Fox Bit Creative LLC. The attached PDF includes the invoice for the video production, proof of their partnership posted on social media, and LLC information showing their business partnership. Personal addresses have been hidden from the documents.
